Access Statement

We are housed in a Georgian building dated 1847. Although the building’s age and design may limit our offer to every one, we are committed to providing you with a warm welcome and quality accommodation. Here are the service elements that you can access at Butlers.

Assistance to disabled guests is always offered notwithstanding our own availability and ability to help. Please detail any special needs and also dietary requests at the time of booking. This will help us to provide the best accommodation and service.

Special diets can be catered for.

All guests are welcome to use the forecourt parking. Additional free on-road parking is also available in Western Road.

For access to Butlers there are 7 steps to the front door and the ‘Ground Floor’ of the Guest House.

There are 14 steps down to the garden room accommodation or 21 stairs to the first floor. All staircases are well lit and have good banister rails.

We do not have a lift.

As a rule of thumb, please bring luggage that you are comfortable to carry yourselves. Assuming our availability and ability, we are happy to help with guest luggage not exceeding 20 kilos.

All pillows and most bedding is allergy free – check with us beforehand if you have any specific allergies.

Assistance dogs are welcome at all times. Guests must provide all bedding, bowls and food, and are responsible for pet conduct and cleanliness at all times.

Butlers staff are trained in disability awareness and follow RNID and RNIB guidelines. A signing guide is available in the office.

We are a strictly no smoking venue.

We have a number of items to cater for a variety of disabilities including Clear print menus and guest notices, non-slip bath mats, talking books and large-handled mugs.
